It is for Freedom

July 4, 2018

One of my favorite verses that brings me encouragement is Galatians 5:1, which says:

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

When Christ came and willingly died on the cross for us, He did it wanting us to be completely FREE!

Free from what you may ask?

-Shame

-Guilt

-Fear

-Rejection

-Hopelessness

-Abandonment

-Oppression

-Depression

-Grip of Sin

And the list could go on and on.

Jesus came and sacrificed because He loved us and He knew what life would be like being enslaved to these things. He knew the life His Father intended for us to have and that He wanted a relationship with us for eternity.

We are not meant to be enslaved and in shackles to these things friends. Through Christ, we have victory over them and that is where we should live every day...from victory.

I think about those who have fought and died for this country. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence. They didn't do those things for themselves alone. They willingly risked their lives for the generations to come after them. That means for you and for me!

They wanted us to be able to live our lives to the fullest and go after our dreams and visions in complete unabandonment!

So...because we do have this freedom, lets go use it and live our lives the way they were meant to be lived...

IN FREEDOM!
