The "D" word...it's not a word many people want to talk about or even face.
It's a word that is looked at like a scary disease, and if you get near someone with it, you will "catch it".
It's a word many don't want to admit they have b/c of fear of rejection, fear of what others will think, fear of being left alone...
I know the "D" word all too well.
What is the "D" word you might be asking???
Depression is a real thing that affects more people than you can ever imagine. So many of us that have gone through it, been through it, or maybe walking through it now, are people you are around on a daily basis.
It could be a business owner, ministry leader, moms, dads, homeless, drug addicts, teachers, police officers...the list could keep going. I was leading worship with my husband when I fell into my darkest point with depression. It can happen to anybody.
Some need medication, counseling, prayer, journal writing, a miracle from God to make it through depression. I needed every single one of those things and I am so thankful for them all.
I just want you to know, if you are reading this and facing the "D" word, no matter who you are, you are not alone...you are not crazy...God is not mad at you...you are not a failure...He has a plan just for you and you do have hope! Don't let that "D" word tell you otherwise.
There are brighter days ahead for you!
I know the "D" word whispers something different, but it is a big fat liar. Depression wants to take you out, but this is the moment where you draw the line in the sand and say not today! So that means it is time to get the help that you need. You are worth it!
We were not made to bear our burdens alone or to live this life alone so don't do it any longer.
This is the day where the "D" word no longer has control over you.
This is the day you find freedom from the shackles of the "D" word!
-It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm and do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1-
It's time to receive your freedom!
