Geese....we could learn a lot from geese. Now that may sound crazy to you, but just go with me on this for a minute.
I am sure you all have noticed the V-pattern that a flock of geese makes when flying together. Did you know that their flight range is better when flying together?
Did you know that when the lead bird gets tired, it flies to the back and another takes its place?
Did you know the geese not leading, HONK, and encourage the leader to keep flying...to keep leading the way?
They are all important in the role they play. They are depending and counting on each other to make it to where they need to go. They don't fight over who will lead, who can honk the best, or who can fly the best.
They take turns leading. They take turns honking! They are in the flight journey together.
This goes for us too my friends. We are on this journey together. We will not always be the one leading nor will we always be the one in the rear.
There is going to come a time where we need to "HONK" for each other and encourage each other to keep going...keep running the race...keep using the gifts that God has given each of us to serve others around us.
Then, there is going to come a time when we need others to "HONK" for us. You don't always have to lead my friend or even have it all together. I am talking to myself too when I say that. Notice the lead bird is getting the encouragement. Let others encourage you today. Swallow your pride and ask for help or ask for prayer.
There will also come a time where you and I will need to fly to the back and rest. Allowing others to pour into our cup is so important. I love to pour into others and encourage others, but I can't do that from an empty cup and neither can you.
Hebrews 10:25 Tells us to meet together and to encourage one another!
So are you ready to give your friends a HONK today?! Even that friend that you may think has it all together and doesn't need encouragement...I promise you she does! The lady at work that is super quiet and never talks to anyone...give her a HONK. Your friend that is having a rough time with her kids...give her a HONK. The gal who you see leading others...give her a HONK. And you....if you need a HONK today, don't be ashamed to ask.
